EDRI Contracted for Apple’s First Photovoltaic Power Generation Project in China

April 16, 2015, the market value of more than 700 billion U.S. dollars, the world's most well-known technology company Apple announced that it will inject Sichuan Shengtian new energy, the first time in China to build photovoltaic power plants.

Prior to this, Lisa Jackson, Apple's full-time vice president, revealed that the company is building a solar project on the plateau in southwestern China, thus practicing its own environmental philosophy on a global scale . This will be Apple's first solar project outside the United States. After the project is completed, it will produce 80 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy each year, roughly equivalent to the electricity consumption of 61,000 Chinese households. According to Jackson, the project will include two solar arrays, built in Hongyuan County and Ruoergai County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The two arrays are 85 miles apart.
Partners with Apple to develop the project include SunPower and Tianjin Central Semiconductor Co, Ltd, Sichuan Development ( Holding ) Co, Ltd, leshan Electric Power Co, Ltd. and Tianjin Jinlian Investment Holding Co, Ltd. The project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year, when Sichuan Shengtian New Energy Development Co, and SunPower will be set up The joint venture company and Apple co-owned. The above two demonstration projects, a total of 40MW, are the world's leading high-efficiency photovoltaic cells, and configure the precise tracking system.
